Ideas and Tips for a Startup Website

Are you at the beginning of the journey for your brand and need to create awareness? A website is among the first things you need to do.

There is no special website template for startups; each will be different, reflecting your brand and, of course, the people behind the brand. But there are a few tips and ideas you should keep in mind when getting started.

1. Short texts with large, clean fonts.

A visitor should understand what you do and who you are from the first page with minimal scrolling. A large headline with a short description underneath is enough, and if you want to provide more details, place them behind a Call to Action button that will lead them to a dedicated page.

2. Put your product or services front and center.

You want to make a strong impression. Do not hide your strong points behind content irrelevant to the visitor. If the visitor does not see what they are looking for within the first few seconds, you risk losing them.

3. When in doubt, simplify.

You don’t need a comprehensive website with many functionalities. Often, it’s best to launch with something functional that can be easily modified or expanded later. Choose the bare necessities and launch the site. There are many benefits to having a smaller site.

4. Be clean and seek smart design.

This point goes hand-in-hand with point 3. Let your brand’s visual identity and product stand out. Do not cram the site with as much content as possible; keep things as simple and clean as possible. Everything should be accessible in 2-3 clicks, easy to read, and easy to navigate.

A good example of how effective this style of creating websites can be is Revolut’s site:

You can add complex and dynamic animations, but avoid using them throughout the entire site if they hinder navigation. You want to make the visitor say “Wow,” but you don’t want them to leave with a spoiled experience after that moment.

A good example of dynamic animations and special navigation would be Utrust, a brand focused on implementing crypto payments in e-commerce sites.

5.My final tip is to think big and showcase these big ideas on your site.

Build a trust relationship with your website visitors. Give them emotional and functional reasons to choose your brand.
