It will sound amusing, but I only started to really appreciate the need for branding after I created my 3rd company. I think I mostly learned from mistakes. In my opinion, a branding component included from the beginning not only saves you huge headaches later on, but also creates additional trust on the part of customers and partners.
We met INOVEO after they had been recommended by one of their clients. His feedback was so convincing that today, after having completed our first project with INOVEO, I can finally perfectly understand why it was so.
We are a start-up and cannot say that we organized a tender and INOVEO won it because they met certain classic criteria. For us, the criteria were mostly people-related, and had more to do with their approach, their warmth and patience in understanding and coming up with a strategy for a start-up like ours. We did take into consideration their existing portfolio. Two components were actually decisive here: 1. The level of trust in them which we personally felt, and 2. The fact that the entire process was going to follow a clear methodology from start to finish. The process went according to plan. What was also important was that almost our entire team was available to work according to the schedule, and we succeeded in doing so. Although we did set a pretty tight schedule, we still managed to stick to it.
The result wowed us and gave us complete confidence in the Innoship concept as a whole. Branding comes with an additional level of maturity which for us, the Innoship team, is directly connected with our personal and business approach.
